Skin cycling, retinol holidays, and other things providers actually agree on
Half the internet is mid-cycle on a routine that wasn't built for them. A primer on what's worth keeping.

Skin cycling has become shorthand for a routine that's mostly good advice with a brand name. The premise — alternate active nights with recovery nights — predates the trend by a decade. What's new is the audience: people who'd never have tried a retinoid five years ago are now using one nightly, often with consequences.
The honest version is small. Three to four nights a week of an active. The other nights, support the barrier. Sunscreen always. Layer slowly. If your face is angry, the right move is rarely 'add a peptide serum.'
